About Us

Family owned and operated since 1949, ReminderNews is now Connecticut’s largest weekly newspaper. Our papers reach 62 towns across central and eastern Connecticut, with a total circulation of more than 200,000 homes and businesses.

The Reminder is a reader friendly, easy to use, magazine style publication. We publish local community news, features and photos in 16 separate local editions. The paper has developed a loyal readership due in part to our talented news staff that covers local towns as well as reader submitted news features such as "Speak Out" and "Good Neighbor".

Our papers carry thousands of display and classified ads every week, because people in the communities we serve know that our papers work. We also offer printing and delivery of inserts, coupon books and many other special supplements throughout the year to our base of thousands of local businesses. We are dedicated to providing excellent customer service. Our Ad Teams provide superior graphic design and creativity.

The "Rockville Reminder" was the first edition to be published ,on November 21, 1949, by Ken Hovland, Sr. and his wife Carol, who personally sold and designed ads, then printed and mailed 2,500 papers to the residents of Rockville CT. Today, the company remains family owned by sons Ken, Jr. and Keith and employee owned through the company's Employee Stock Ownership Plan.

The Reminder also publishes the high quality Reminder Gold Pages telephone directories. Introduced in 1999, Reminder directories now publish six local editions covering central and eastern Connecticut. Reminder Gold Pages directories feature large, easy to read type, high quality glossy paper, coffee table cover art, complete accurate listings, full color advertising, community information, maps, and more. The directories are delivered to residences and businesses within the areas we serve.
