Windsor Avenue’s Sovereign Bank was robbed on Monday morning, Jan. 31, by a male suspect who implied he had a weapon and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect was described as a dark-skinned, adult black male of thin build, approximately 6 feet, 2 inches, with a possible mustache. He was wearing a black leather coat over a hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored sagging pants, knit gloves and a Florida Marlins baseball cap.
According to police, at approximately 9:29 a.m., the suspect approached the teller and implied he had a weapon, prior to leaving the premises with the money. The suspect did not display a weapon and no customers or employees were injured during the robbery.
Police say the suspect was last seen walking from the bank into Windsor Shopping Center’s parking lot. Windsor Police have surveillance footage and are asking the public to help identify the suspect. Any information regarding the suspect or robbery should be directed to the Windsor Police Department at 860-688-5273, ext. 512.
