The body of 24 year-old Jaclyn Fitzgerald was discovered on Feb. 25 at her home at 30 Namonee Trail in East Hampton. Fitzgerald, who reportedly worked as an exotic dancer, had been reported missing earlier in the day. Her death was quickly ruled a homocide, and police indicated it was “not a random crime.”
On Feb. 27, 22-year-old Oscar Wojtanowski apparently committed suicide by jumping from a five-story parking garage at the Mohegan Sun Casino. Police described Wojtanowski as a “person of interest” in the Fitzgerald murder case. Wojtanowski and Fitzgerald reportedly shared a rocky romantic relationship.
On March 1, the medical examiner's office revealed the result of an autopsy on Fitzgerald, stating that she had been strangled. Results of the autopsy on Wojtanowski are still pending.
