The Windsor Palette and Brush Club will hold its 50th annual Spring Art Exhibit during the month of April at the Windsor Town Hall, on the Green in Windsor Center.
Approximately 70 works by about 30 local area artists will be on display in the lower level corridors from April 3 to 28.
The public is invited to an opening reception on Sunday, April 3, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers. Many of the art works will be for sale, including oils, watercolors, pastel, mixed media, stained glass, collage, drawings and photography. They can be viewed any time during Town Hall hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or whenever there is an evening meeting.
The Windsor Palette and Brush Club was organized in 1960 and held its first Spring Art Exhibit in June of 1961. Forty-seven members exhibited 86 paintings in the auditorium of the Windsor Federal Savings & Loan Bank on Broad Street. Later venues were the Windsor Town Green on Broad Street and the Windsor Library. Since 2004, the annual fall and spring exhibits have been held in the Windsor Town Hall.
The Windsor Palette and Brush Club is sponsored currently by the Town of Windsor’s Department of Recreation and Leisure Services, and it holds monthly meetings with art demonstrations on the second Tuesday of every month from September through May, except for December and February.
