MACC CEO wins Women in Business Award

Beth Stafford, CEO of Manchester Area Conference of Churches, was recently given the Women in Business Award from the Hartford Business Journal. Stafford was one of the eight senior-level executives, CEOs and entrepreneurs from the Hartford area who were recognized at the eighth annual Women in Business luncheon on May 5.
For Stafford, winning the award is significant to her personally, because it is recognition for the work she does in the field she loves. She has been a social worker since 1977, working in a variety of community-based organizations and health-care facilities. She also credits receiving a master of management degree from Cambridge and her involvement with the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club and the United Way’s Day of Caring. “All of these associations, and being fortunate to work in the social services, have shaped who I am as a business woman in leadership,” explained Stafford. “I love the opportunities and challenges of helping people, and I have learned from the best in the industry.”
