Members of the South Windsor Police Department carried the Special Olympics torch through the town as part of the kick-off to the 42nd Annual Summer Games. The torch was carried through South Windsor on June 9 on its way to Hartford. The SWPD also previously raised funds, as well as awareness, for Special Olympics with the Tip-A-Cop event at a local restaurant.
