“We’re looking for individuals with three characteristics,” said TicketNetwork CEO Don Vaccaro about job applicants planning to attend the company’s career fair on Aug. 30. For Vaccaro, the traits of absolute integrity, intelligence and self-motivation are more important than education and job experience, especially for entry-level positions.
TicketNetwork recently moved from Vernon to South Windsor in order to accommodate the company’s growing employee base. “The main reason for this location is it’s a great building with 53 acres,” said Vaccaro. The state offered incentives for the company to remain in Connecticut, and TicketNetwork also received tax incentives for creating jobs as a “First Five” company. “We know we’ll be in Connecticut for a long time,” Vaccaro said.
“We’re very excited about the career fair,” Vaccaro said about the company’s first job fair. “We really like to have a strong, local presence.” Available positions include call center operators, engineers, business developers, software sales, administrative assistants, compliance officers, IT engineers, graphic artists and content developers. Vaccaro said the company will ultimately employ around 350 people in South Windsor. He is planning on hiring 100 new employees by the end of the year.
TicketNetwork is an on-line ticket exchange. According to the company’s promotional materials, the company is in compliance with payment card industry standards and offers a “125-percent guarantee” to all customers. Ticket resales are legal in 45 states, including Connecticut.
The career fair will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at TicketNetwork’s new location, 83 Gerber Road East in South Windsor. For more information, visit the website at ticketnetwork.com and click on “Now Hiring” at the top of the page. Pre-registration with a résumé through the website corporate.ticketnetwork.com/careers will provide the applicant with priority processing on the day of the career fair.
