The Friends of Northwest Park held the 29th Annual Northwest Park County Fair on Sept. 24. The event dates back to 1983, when it was started to celebrate the 350th anniversary of the Town of Windsor's inception as a community, the first in Connecticut. The new tradition included fun, games, performances from the Windsor Police K-9 Unit, and other activities for all ages. Local civic groups participated by running booths and games, and offering food concessions.

Proceeds from the fair are used by the Friends of Northwest Park to provide programming, equipment, exhibits, and other features for the park.
