With a total of six members this year, the Windham High School girls’ cross-country team has grown since the 2010-11 season. “We’re up from four or five last year,” said Katelynn Person, the team’s single senior, at the Haddad Windham Invitational on Sept. 17. The Invite was the second opportunity of the season for the runners to test themselves, after a meet against Waterford and Killingly on Sept. 17. The Windham girls didn’t have a top 10 runner at the Invite, but the girls were satisfied with their performance.
“We’ve improved, we’ve gotten a lot better in our running,” said Person, who was the second woman to cross the finish line for Windham in the varsity race. Junior runner Daniella Padua was the first. “Things are looking up,” said Person.
The Windham High School girls’ cross-country team members are: senior Katelynn Person; juniors Joslin Pfaneuf, Megan Dobrolet and Daniella Padua; and sophomores Amber Dupont and Emma Hughes. The team coach is Rebecca Howard.
