Paul Bisaccia, whose selection as “Alumnus of the Year” by the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford occasioned the governor to proclaim “Paul Bisaccia Day” in Connecticut, has made a specialty of the music of George Gershwin. Although his repertoire and musical interests are wide-ranging and he is known for his virtuoso performances as well as the entertaining stories that delight his audiences and television fans, he was the first artist to record the complete solo piano music of Gershwin. His PBS television special, “Gershwin by Bisaccia,” has been seen by millions.

A protégé of renowned Brazilian pianist Luiz de Moura Castro and a summa cum laude graduate of the Hartt School, Bisaccia has performed concerts on four continents. On Sunday, Oct. 16, from 2-4 p.m., the prolific recording artist will be performing right here in Enfield, at the Enfield Senior Center, 299 Elm St. Tickets are $7, which includes dessert. They may be purchased in advance by contacting the Enfield Recreation Dept. at 860-253-6420, or they may be purchased at the door on the day of the event. The performance is hosted by the Enfield Cultural Arts Commission.
