Bobcat runners finish season against East Lyme Vikings

The Bacon Academy boys’ and girls’ cross country teams finished their regular seasons on Oct. 11, with their lone home meet against East Lyme High School.  The meet took place on a route starting and ending behind William J. Johnston Middle School.

With the top six finishers, East Lyme took the boys’ race 15–48. Ben Ostrowski finished on top, with a time of 16:36.  Jon Combies and Scott Butler of Salem rounded out the top three.  The Vikings head into the ECC Championships on Oct. 20, with a 7-1 overall record (3 -1 in division).   Nate Baldi was the top finisher for Bacon Academy, with a time of 17:41.  The Bobcats finished the season at 8-3 (1-3).

The East Lyme girls also won their race, 22–39, improving their record to 6-2 (3-1).  With a time of 18:59, Eva Christensen finished nearly a full minute ahead of the second place finisher, Bacon Academy’s Katie Stevens.  Noelene Power from East Lyme took third.  The Bobcat girls’ team finishes the season at 6-5 (0-4).
