With the Salvation Army Band playing songs in the background, visitors to Holiday on Main enjoyed some festive cheer on Saturday, Dec. 3. Santa and his reindeer and the Grinch were at the Mary Cheney Library, as were the Manchester Musical Players, singing carols.
The event was coordinated by Tana Parseliti, manager of the Downtown Manchester Special Services District.

In Center Memorial Park, members of the Manchester Community College Ice Sculpture Team created their artwork. “Main Street is one of our mainstays,” said professor Glenn Lemaire. Manchester Ice & Fuel donated the ice.

Fifteen downtown businesses hosted open houses with demonstrations and entertainment. Visitors could also take the S.H.A.R.E. (South Manchester History, Arts, Recreation and Education Collaborative) trolley up and down Main Street, to the Lutz Museum or to a number of the Manchester Historical Society properties, which were also hosting open houses.
