Scenes from ‘The Nutcracker’

Magical holiday dreams really do come true! Connecticut Concert Ballet is proud to announce its 2011 performances of “The Nutcracker.” This production will highlight 250 of Connecticut Concert Ballet’s talented local students alongside professional dancers Jennifer Grapes and Darren McIntyre, from Chicago, and most recently with the Milwaukee Ballet, on Dec. 10 and 11 and Dec. 17 and 18.

Performances will be held at the Bailey Auditorium at Manchester High School, 134 Middle Turnpike East, in Manchester, on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 18, at 2 p.m.

Local performers include Hannah Sullivan, of Bolton, who performed as a Spanish dancer in the 2010 production of Connecticut Concert Ballet’s “The Nutcracker” and has been named to a lead role in this year’s show.

Cassie Rudolph, of East Windsor, performed as a Marzipan Shepherdess in the 2010 production and has been named to a lead role in this year’s show.

Alex Nelson and Candice Quarella, of South Windsor, danced in the Waltz of the Flowers in the 2010 production and have been named to lead roles in this year’s show.

Micaela Abernethy, of South Windsor, danced as a Snowflake in the 2010 production and has been named to a lead role in this year’s show.

Emily Dylewski, of Suffield, danced in the Waltz of the Flowers in the 2010 production and has been named to a lead role in this year’s show.

Grace Mazzarella, of Tolland, danced as a Snowflake in the 2010 production and has been named to a lead role in this year’s show.

Serena Lotreck, of Tolland, helped Mother Ginger’s Spicedrops in the 2010 production and has been named to a lead role in this year’s show.

Ara Spellman, of Vernon, appeared as the Snow Princess in the 2010 production of Connecticut Concert Ballet’s “The Nutcracker.”

Sara Clarke, of Vernon, danced as a Marzipan Shepherdess in the 2010 production and has been named to a lead role in this year’s show.
