With a 9-5 record, coach Elaine Boldi and assistant coach Kim Soucy led girls’ field hockey back to the CIAC Class S tournament, where the team fell in a closely-fought 3-1 loss to Stonington. Members of the field hockey team participated in the Play for the Cure game, raising more than $2,800 for the treatment and prevention of breast cancer.
After a slow start, coach Corey Bernier and the football team finished strong with a late season string of wins. At 5-5, the Bulldogs named Tim Artruc - LB, Zach Rollins - DB, Rick Riley - DL, Beau Weed - OL, Honorable Mention Shane McCuen - OL and Emerson Dolby - LB to the CIAC Class S All-Conference team. Beyond the playing field, team members pitched in after tropical storm Irene, filling sandbags and donating time to residents in need.
