The RHAM volleyball team celebrated Senior Night on Oct. 26 with a 3-0 victory against Rocky Hill, ending their regular season with an undefeated record. The Sachems have only lost a total of three games throughout the regular 2012-13 season. The Sachems showed their usual precision and skill during Senior Night, putting away their opponents in another quick 1, 2, 3 match.
RHAM ends the season with an 18-0 record, putting them in the top position for the CCC post-season tournament, which was disrupted by the advance of Hurricane Sandy. As of Oct. 29, the CCC quarterfinals were scheduled for Oct. 31, with RHAM scheduled to play number eight-seeded Tolland. For the Class L state tournament, RHAM shares the top position with Joel Barlow, also ending the season with an 18-0 record. The Bristol Eastern team holds the number three position, having suffered a single loss of the season at the hands of the undefeated Coventry High School team on Oct. 24.
The seniors on this year’s RHAM volleyball team are Hannah Hyatt, Francesca Mack and Briana Geoghegan. The head coach is Tim Guernsey, with Chloe Rishell coaching the JV team.
