The Windsor Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a robbery at CVS on Wednesday.
On the evening of Wednesday, Jan. 2, at 10:31 p.m., a Hispanic male - 5’6” tall, thinly built, clean-shaven with black hair - entered the CVS located at 484 Windsor Ave. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a Boston Red Sox fitted baseball cap.
The male got into line for the checkout and attempted to purchase a Snickers bar, however the price was over a $1, which he claimed he didn’t have. The suspect left the store, telling the clerk that he had more money in the car.
The suspect returned to the store, got back into line, and asked where candy priced below $1 was located. The clerk directed him to the proper aisle. When the suspect returned to the checkout, he handed the clerk $1 for Fireballs. As the clerk opened the register drawer, the suspect hopped up onto the counter, reached into the cash drawer and grabbed money. The clerk attempted to close the drawer, but could not. After grabbing approximately $100 from the drawer, the suspect ran out of the store and headed east across the parking lot.
The suspect never touched the clerk, and at no time was a weapon used or implied.
Anyone with information regarding this person is asked to call the Windsor Police Department at 860-688-5273, extension 521.
