Day Kimball Hospital has announced that its first baby of the year was born on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at 1:35 a.m. A baby girl, Emily Elizabeth Hall, was delivered by Anne Amberg, CNM, weighing 7 lbs. 6 oz. and 20-1/2 inches long, to parents Mary Ellen and Derek Hall of Plainfield. Emily joins big brother Blake in the Hall family.

As their baby was the hospital's first-born in 2013, Hall’s parents were presented with gifts from Day Kimball Healthcare and items donated from local businesses. Contributions included gift cards, gift certificates, clothing and a stuffed bear with a shirt that read, “Special Delivery, Born at Day Kimball Hospital.” Generous donors included the Day Kimball Hospital Maternal Child Health Team, the Day Kimball Hospital Woman’s Board, the Ladies of Penelope, Medical Pharmacy & Putnam Home Medical, Midtown Fitness, Portraits by Nan and Putnam Bank.

The Halls were excited to learn that their daughter was the first baby born at Day Kimball in 2013, and expressed their appreciation to the hospital staff and area businesses for putting together such a thoughtful package of gifts.
