To help local families celebrate the spring season, the Colchester Lions Club will soon be holding its free Bunny Blast once again.
The 17th annual event on Sunday, March 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the William J. Johnson School gym, is for children ages 2 to 10 years old. The Bunny Blast – co-sponsored by Funtastic Inflatables and Colchester Stop and Shop – gives children the chance to play on many inflatable playscapes, enjoy arts and crafts projects, and have a special balloon character prepared for them. The Easter Bunny will also be on hand for photos.
Michele Wyatt, of the Colchester Lions Club, said the event usually attracts between 100 and 300 children in a short period of time. “The families love it,” she said. “It gives them two hours for the kids to get their energy out, which is especially nice in this year with a tough winter.”
Wyatt said the Bunny Blast is always a great place for kids to run and jump around, and in a venue that parents appreciate. “It’s a safe environment for the kids,” she said. “There are bouncy things to jump inside, slides to go down, and it’s unlimited. They can do it as many times as they want.”
Keepsake instant photos with the Easter Bunny are available for a $1 donation, or bring your own camera to take a picture of your child with the Easter Bunny at no charge. Thanks to the fundraisers the Lions hold all year, admission to this event is free to all.
