JJIS and Colchester Parks & Rec. to offer clubs and wrap-around child care

JJIS will team with the Colchester Parks & Rec. Department again to offer a wrap-around child care program following the second session of after-school clubs. The clubs will meet each Monday and Thursday, from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. Parents will also be given the option of signing their child up for additional child care services with the Colchester Parks & Rec., following after-school clubs from 4:30 until 6 p.m. The after-school clubs offer the opportunity for all third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students to develop and pursue a variety of interests. Additionally, it is our hope that students have the opportunity to enhance their social and intellectual development while participating in any of the clubs offered. There are many activities to choose from which challenge critical thinking, along with diverse athletic and artistic abilities.

Parks & Rec. will offer the following after-club child care services:

Homework MANIA! Children will have time in a quiet, structured environment to complete homework. The instructor is there to assist the students as needed. Bring a snack and an independent book.

Ceramics – Learn the fundamentals of ceramics, discover your hidden talent and have fun with your friends. You get to keep what you create.
