A large group of local residents gathered in a field behind Gilead Congregational Church in the pre-dawn hours of Easter morning on Sunday, March 31, to watch the sun rise over pristine farmland as they celebrated the resurrection of Christ.
The ecumenical sunrise service brings together the members of four local congregations: Gilead Congregational Church, UCC, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, The Worship Center and The Church of the Holy Family. The service is co-led by the four church leaders, and shares a traditional message of resurrection and new life.
