Colchester Parks and Recreation recently held is eighth annual Spring Clean Up. Recreation Manager Cheryl Hancin said, “We had an overwhelming number of individuals and groups come out for the 8th Annual Spring Clean Up of Colchester!”

Colchester Parks and Recreation would like to thank the following:

The Colchester Garden Club and the Cub Scouts, as they beautified the library,  the Bacon Academy football players tackled the Town Green and the Senior Center, and The Youth FIRST Coalition who undertook the youth services grounds. The Community Garden was weeded and turned over by the Community Garden Committee.

Each crew came with rakes and shovels and got dirty while picking up garbage, sticks and leaves. “I would also like to thank the Public Works and Parks Maintenance crews for supplying the tools and trucks to help get the job done,” Hancin said. “Everyone worked hard to say goodbye to winter and hello spring!”

“A special thank you to our 2013 sponsors, Noel’s Market, Dunkin’ Donuts, Harry’s Place, Gano’s Power Equipment, and DH Marvin & Sons Inc.,” Hancin added.
