The Miss Connecticut organization is holding its annual golf tournament in Hebron on May 21. The 2013 Miss Connecticut Golf Invitational is an all-day event, and will be held at the Blackledge Country Club. The day will feature Miss Connecticut 2012 Emily Audibert, as well as the contestants vying for the title of Miss Connecticut 2013 at the upcoming competition in June.
Participants will enjoy eighteen holes at Blackledge while being able to take part in contests throughout the day, including a hole-in-one contest for a brand new Nissan from Barberino Nissan. The day also includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, and opportunities to meet and take photos with Miss Connecticut contestants.
Proceeds from the tournament benefit the scholarship foundation as well as Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, which is the official philanthropy of the Miss America Organization. Locally, the designated hospital is the Connecticut Children's Medical Center.
Blackledge General Manager Erik Lucas said that while the course hosts many charity tournaments, he and his staff are looking forward to this one, because it's something a little different.
“It's a different group for us,” Lucas said. “It's an interesting and fun group, and groups that benefit the Connecticut Children's Medical Center are always special ones. It's a great time for people who come out and have a good time, socially.”
