Has your New Year’s resolution to lose weight faded, as the year has progressed? The idea might have sounded good in theory during the revelry of the holiday season, but once the reality of it set in, well, that can be a different story.

According to www.statisticbrain.com, citing the University of Scranton Journal of Clinical Psychology published last year, the number one New Year’s resolution for 2012 was to lose weight. However, the study says that 24 percent of the people who make New Year’s resolutions don’t succeed and ultimately fail on their resolution each year, while only 8 percent are successful in achieving their resolutions.

Don't worry if your efforts have bogged down - there is still plenty of time to get back on track to living a healthy lifestyle. You can take the first step on Saturday, June 1. That's when the town of East Hartford is sponsoring a Wellness Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Town Green, with a rain location at the Community Cultural Center. This free event is presented by Eliza’s Energy Source.

The fair will feature health screenings, cooking demonstrations, door prizes, items for sale, activities for children and giveaways. Residents can also pre-register for a free CPR class at http://elizasenergysource.com/contact_us.

Eliza’s Energy Source, "The Fitness Creators" LLC is owned by Eliza Kearse-Westberry. Eliza’s Energy Source has been helping residents in the greater Hartford area live healthier lives for more than 20 years. Kearse-Westberry is a certified fitness instructor, personal trainer, Pilates instructor, kickboxing instructor, Zumba instructor and yoga teacher.
