The following are Adult Fitness offerings this fall:
Kayaking for Fun
Beginner kayakers experience the joy of being on the water while learning basic kayaking skills. Come explore Gardners Lake, Lake Hayward, Red Cedar Lake and other local ponds and rivers. Kayak, life vest and paddle are provided if needed. 4 weeks.
Sept. 3-Sept. 24

Tabata Boot Camp
Experience an intense and high effective military style conditioning in this rapid fat loss program that works the entire body; arms, legs, back, chest, and abs. This workout utilizes the Tabata method which is 20 seconds of ultra-intense exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest repeated continuously for 4 minutes (8 cycles). Designed for all fitness levels. Bring hand weights and a mat. 6 weeks.
Sept. 11-Oct. 16
Activity 1592: Res. $45/Non-Res. $65
Gain strength and conditioning training in this challenging class! Kettlebell is a proven training tool and consistently produces positive results Classes are 45 minutes and led by a certified Kettlebell instructor. Beginners and advanced participants are welcome. Bring your own Kettlebell and a mat. 6 weeks.
Sept. 11-Oct. 16

Power Hour Yoga
This strong athletic practice results in improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind. Synchronize the breath with a progressive series of yoga postures to produce intense heat and purifying sweat to detoxifies muscles and organs. Be ready to sweat! Bring hand weights and a mat. 5 weeks.
Sept. 9-Oct. 7
Activity 1591: Res. $35/Non-Res. $55
Designed to support and encourage all levels of practitioners. Beginners receive instruction and help appropriate to their level, while experiences students are offered more challenging variations of poses. Key to attending this class is a capability to pace oneself while finding the presented options inspiring. Instructors will cater the level to the participants present. Bring water and a mat. 6 weeks.
Sept. 12-Oct. 17
Activity 1600: Res. $45/Non-Res. $65
Zumba eliminates the “work” from “working out” by combining irresistible Latin and international music with dynamic, yet simple exercise moves to create a fun dynamic fitness program. Zumba utilizes the principles of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize calorie output, fat burning and total body toning. This Latin-based group exercise class is fun and easy to do. No dance experience required!

Adult Golf Lessons
Golfers work on grip, stance, posture, back swing, follow-through, down swing, chipping, putting, equipment, course management, and golf etiquette. Participants should bring a 3-wood, 7-iron, pitching wedge, and putter to class. Fee includes use of golf balls. 5 weeks.

Adult Tennis Lessons
Renew your interest in tennis, dust off your old racquet and come join the fun! Tune up your strokes, meet new people, and get involved with a sport of a lifetime! Open to beginner and advanced beginners. Check our website at www.colchesterct.gov/parks for weather related announcements.

Teens & Adults
Achieve Self Discipline, Self Confidence, Respect for Others and Responsibility in this class. Kokondo provides a safe, realistic approach to martial arts training with the emphasis on self defense. Develop true self confidence in yourself and a sense of pride that comes from doing your best. There is no sparring or competition. Don’t miss our Fall Introductory Special Rate: 2 nights a week for the price of one night. 8 classes/session.

Men’s 6v6 Flag Football League
This unique style of flag football creates a fun fast paces environment for participants to enjoy a healthy form of competition. Teams consist of up to 12 players with 6 on the field. Gather your friends and sign up! Mandatory Captain’s Meeting at 6 p.m. on Aug. 29 at Town Hall. First games will begin on Sept. 8. NO GAMES ON SEPT. 29. All participants need to register online. No exceptions. Team and individual payments are due at time of sign-up. Teams, including all players will not be allowed to play until payment is received in full.
