One place to get a wide variety of unique holiday gifts is at the Vernon Community Arts Center, but only for a limited time. The center's second annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Festival and Sale runs through Dec. 22, and features unique gifts created by 40 award-winning local and regional artisans.

Offerings include ceramics, jewelry, soaps, note cards, wood crafts, textiles, candles, pottery, ornaments, handbags and more.

VCAC staffers said the artists are all from central or north central Connecticut and were chosen for their talents, as well as in keeping with the show's intended breadth of offerings.

Many artists who took part in last year's holiday show are participating again, while others were found at the Open Studios show in Hartford in November, and other craft events.

“We looked for things that would give us a nice variety of materials and media,” said Tom Ouellette, VCAC administrative assistant, who coordinated the show.

Hours are Thursdays and Fridays, Dec. 12-13 and 19-20, from 2 to 6 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays, Dec. 14-15 and 21-22, from 1 to 5 p.m.
