Many people in the town of Windsor are already familiar with the fun and entertaining summer camp at Northwest Park, but those truly in the know recently had the chance to enjoy the annual winter vacation camp as well. Winter Tracker Camp is a place where kids can come and be active and have fun with friends during the winter.

From Feb. 17 to the 21, local kids got to snow-shoe, cross-country ski, play silly games and spend time together all under the theme of the Winter Olympics.

“This year our theme has developed into Winter Olympics,” said Jen Filer, environmental educator and camp director. “The campers were out a couple times a day and came in to warm up in between activities.” Camp teacher Jeneva Davidson ran the program and had fun with the kids for five days straight.

“While most [other kids] were complaining about the snow, these youth were excited to have it,” said Filer. “The favorite for most was cross-country skiing, hiking in the snowfall, and the huge snowman they built together. They also competed in a variety of Olympic sports during their time together as well.”

“This was a great opportunity to keep youth active and engaged during winter break,” she said.

Registration is currently ongoing for summer camp. Go to for more information.
