Fun at the Rec

MANSFIELD- Mansfield Parks and Recreation is sponsoring the following classes for pre-school aged children. Parents are welcome (but not required) to stay. Call 860-429-3015 for more information. Creative Movement—Children will be introduced to dance through basic movement and motor skills such as skipping, marching, and galloping, starts Jan. 15 and runs through March 18, 12:10-12:40 p.m. Exploring Earth—participants will learn about the planet and all of the exciting things it has t offer. Different unit each week including rocks, weather, nature, and more. There will be songs, hands-on activities, and art projects. Class meets 10-10:45 a.m. on Tues., Jan. 24-March 6. Dino-mite Dinos—participants will learn about what the Earth was like millions of years ago and about the dinosaurs that lived here. Participants will dig for dinosaur bones, create dinosaur eggs, and hear stories about dinosaurs. Class meets 11-11:45 a.m. on Tues., Jan. 24-March 6. Little Broadway Juniors—A fun class for kids who enjoy “acting out!” Silly theater games, mask-making, learning all kinds of funny expressions and many more fun activities. Class meets on Wednesdays, Jan. 25-March 7, 9:45-10:30 a.m. Tune Time—Children will express themselves through the art of music. They will sing songs, dance, and learn about rhythms, make their own instruments and create their own music. They will play music games ad do arts and crafts projects. Class meets on Thursdays, Jan. 26-march 9, 11-11:45 a.m. Book and Art—This class combines learning with arts and crafts. Each week there will be a focus on a different book and have activities and art projects to go along with the story. Children will take home artwork each week. Class meets on Thursdays, Jan. 26-March 8, 10-10:45 a.m.
