Crafternoon at the library

SALEM- Make holiday cards and gift bookmarks using dry embossing at the Salem Free Public Library on Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. The program is free, although participants can buy a dry embossing stylus for $5 or bring their own to use during the session. Dry embossing, also called relief embossing, is done by tracing a stencil with a special tool, called a stylus, which creates a stunning, raised pattern on paper. Using a lightbox or the windows as a light source, participants will trace around stencils to create elegant cards. Susan Nye, the teacher for the session, will also demonstrate to make stencils. Please register for the program by contacting The Salem Free Public Library, located at 264 Hartford Road (Route 85) at 860-859-1130.
