Garden club event

VERNON - On Jan. 21, the Vernon Garden Club is encouraging members to attend its program entitled “Urban Flower Power.” Hartford resident Nicola Allen will share the compelling story of changing a tough North End street by planting gardens and removing fences, starting with her own yard. Through her efforts, neighborhoods have been transformed. The program will begin at 7 p.m. at the Rockville United Methodist Church, 142 Grove St. Refreshments and a business meeting will follow.
