Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club luncheon

The North Central Connecticut Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Enfield will host their first joint luncheon on March 9 from noon to 1:30 p.m., at Holiday Inn, One Bright Meadow Blvd., Enfield. As guest speaker, the Chamber and the Rotary Club will host Howard Baldwin, former president of the World Hockey Association, one of the architects of the historic NHL-WHA merger. Baldwin was the first American sports entrepreneur to break through the Iron Curtain. He partnered with the Russian government as an equal partner in ownership of the famous CCCP Red Army team in Moscow. Baldwin took over marketing the Hartford’s AHL team and has renamed them the Connecticut Whale. There will be $15 charge to attend.
