Two arrested for crack cocaine sale

An investigation by the Hot Spot unit of the East Hartford Police led to the arrest March 4 of two people at a house on Howard Street where crack cocaine was allegedly being sold.
Police entered 12 Howard Street with a search warrant and found 1.2 grams of marijuana, five 3.1 gram bags of cocaine, a hookah smoking bong, and $900 cash that was suspected to be profits drug sales.
Tashem Burns, 26, ran from officers and hid in an upstairs bedroom, where he was found and arrested. Sabinea Stewart, 26, was also arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. There were five other adults in the home at the time.
Burns and Stewart were charged with risk of injury to a minor because a six month old infant and three-year old child were in the home. Burns was also charged with possession of narcotics, operating a drug factory, and selling narcotics within 1500 of a day care center. Bail was set at $150,000 for Burns and $10,000 for Stewart. Both have a court date set for March 23.
