Tolland preparing for anniversary

Tolland - posted Mar, 18 2011

A group of Tolland residents is getting organized now to celebrate the town’s 300th anniversary in May 2015, and it needs your
ideas and help.
Last fall, the town council asked the town’s Permanent Celebration Committee to lead the anniversary planning effort. It will hold a community forum on March 24 at 7 p.m. at the Tolland High School cafeteria to brainstorm about ways to honor the town’s history on its 300th anniversary.
The committee is seeking volunteers from among Tolland’s residents, businesses, the Tolland Historical Society, its school system and its many active civic organizations to serve on a 25-member planning committee or on a variety of anniversary sub-committees, which will also be asked to support the committee’s effort by sponsoring events in the next few years.
