Museum volunteers needed
East Windsor - posted Jun, 03 2011
The Connecticut Trolley Museum is looking for volunteers interested in becoming trolley operators. If you love history, rails, people and want to have fun, this is the opportunity for you.
Requirements to become a trolley car operator are: you must have a valid driver’s license, be at least 18 years of age, be able to pass a DOT physical and become a member of the museum ($20 for seniors, $30 for adults).
The Connecticut Trolley Museum is owned and operated by the Connecticut Electric Railway Association, Inc. Founded in October 1940, it is the nation’s oldest incorporated organization dedicated to the preservation of streetcars and the Trolley era. As a non-profit organization, its educational and historical aim is to recreate an important phase of New England’s business and social life from 1890 to 1945.
The Trolley Museum is located at 58 North Road in East Windsor. It is right off of I-91 at exit 45, then east on Route 140. If you are interested or would like more information call 860-627-6540 or e-mail office@ct-trolley.org. Classes will be beginning shortly and are held on weekends.
