Farmer market needs vendors and entertainers
East Granby - posted Jun, 17 2011
The East Granby Farmers Market is seeking musicians and other entertainers to perform at its weekly market. Beginning on July 6 and every Wednesday thereafter until the end of September, farmers and craftsmen from East Granby, Granby and surrounding towns will gather at the Center Shops to sell seasonally-fresh and handcrafted products made or grown in Connecticut. The market will be open from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. for thirteen weeks from July 6 through Sept. 28 at the western end of the Center Shops, located at the corner of Routes 20 and 187. Proceeds will benefit the East Granby Public Library.
The market organizers expect that the market will become a community gathering place in addition to a place to buy products, and hopes that offering entertainment will make the market a destination for area residents.
If you are a musician interested in performing at the market, or would like more information, contact Tami Zawistowski at tami.z@resourcebooks.net or call 860-658-1191.
There is also still space available for farmers and craftsmen, both for the full season or on a week-by-week basis. For more information about how you can apply to be a market vendor, contact Lori Blackburn at EastGranbyFarmersMarket@gmail.com or 860-653-8289.
