RCA seeks volunteers

Rockville - posted Jun, 17 2011

The Rockville Community Alliance (RCA), a nonprofit group made up of concerned citizens dedicated to improving the community, is looking to increase membership and promote sponsor opportunities. The group meets monthly, the last Tuesday of the month.
The group is a network of people that partners with the Vernon Police Department, the Vernon Community Network, businesses and community agencies to work together.
Additional members and volunteers are being sought for occasional assistance with events and festivals, and longer commitments as board members. Anyone can be a sponsor - local residents, groups, local merchants - for some or all activities.
Upcoming activities include July in the Sky on June 30, partnering with the Vernon Parks and Recreation Department, and will include entertainment, food and game booths in the downtown Rockville area before the annual town fireworks; National Night Out on Aug. 2, partnering with the VCN and Target Stores, free food and entertainment/activities, local agencies will have information booths; Rockville Festival, Sept. 24, co-sponsor with Tri-Town Cruzers; December Fest events throughout December; partnering with Vernon Parks and Recreation Department to promote seasonal and holiday events on weekends.
For more information or to participate in any of these events, contact Event Coordinator Tom DiDio at 860-646-5320 or e-mail thomas.didio@snet.net, or RCA President Jim Sendrak at 860-871-8129 or jimsendrak@comcast.net, or visit www.rockvillecommunityalliance.com.
