Quilt square fundraiser
Stafford/Enfield - posted Jul, 14 2011
The Cancer Quilt Committee at Johnson Memorial Medical Center will offer fabric squares for the public to decorate in honor of or in memory of someone affected by cancer. The decorated fabric squares will be used to create two quilts to benefit the new Infusion Center at the Phoenix Cancer Center in Enfield.
Fabric squares can be purchased with a small donation and the funds received will be used to provide comfort supplies for patients such as blankets, I-Pods and Kindles to be used during treatment.
Completed fabric squares should be returned to JMMC by Aug. 31. Once completed, one quilt will hang on a wall of the new Infusion Center and one will travel to be displayed at local churches, libraries and special events.
The public is invited to visit the following locations to select their fabric squares and to receive their packet with detailed instructions and decorating ideas:
The Gift Shop at JMMC, 201 Chestnut Hill Road in Stafford Springs, 860-684-8273; and the Registration Desk at Johnson Surgery Center, 148 Hazard Ave. in Enfield, 860-763-7650.
