Windsor Public Schools Focus Groups

Windsor - posted Jul, 14 2011

Parents of young children who live in Windsor are invited to attend one of two upcoming community focus groups to provide input and suggestions about the Windsor Board of Education’s plan for full-day kindergarten, elementary consolidation, and grade reconfiguration. Focus Groups will take place on Tuesday, July 19 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. simultaneously at two locations in Windsor: 1) Oliver Ellsworth School at 730 Kennedy Road; and 2) L.P. Wilson Community Center at 601 Matianuck Ave.
The Focus Groups are designed for parents with children who are infants through sixth grade. They are welcome at either location, can come at any time during the two-hour events, and stay as long as they wish. No advance reservations or registration are required.
Both Focus Group locations will feature a variety of booths or stations, each with information about a major topic regarding the reorganization of the schools. The topics include: curriculum expectations; the look and design of the buildings; schedules; transportation; school programs; communication; foreign language; diversity; and student government. At each station, parents will have the opportunity to learn more about the topic and write their opinions and suggestions. Windsor Public Schools’ administration and school principals will be available to answer questions.
