Silk City Chorus' anniversary show

Manchester's Silk City Chorus will present their 50th anniversary show, which will include Broadway show tunes, calypso rhythms, hilarious parodies and a musical theme embracing superheroes. The chorus consists of 75 men from 31 towns in the Connecticut and Massachusetts area. Entitled "Everybody Loves A Hero," this year's show will take place on Jan. 14 in the newly-renovated auditorium of Manchester High School, 134 East Middle Turnpike in Manchester. There will be two performances - 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. In addition to the host chorus, the concert will include International Gold Medalist Quartet "Crossroads" and International Semi Finalist Quartet "Da Capo." All seats for either the 1:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. performances may be reserved by going to www.silkcitychorus.org/tickets or by calling 203-272-7360. Tickets are $20 ($17 for seniors and students). Secondary and primary reserved seats are $23 and $28, respectively. There will also be a dinner at either 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. at Second Congregational Church, 385 North Main St. in Manchester.
