Jacques Lamarre, a Manchester resident and playwright, who has worked in public relations, marketing, and/or development for the Hartford Stage, the Yale School of Drama, TheaterWorks and now the Mark Twain House & Museum in Hartford, will be the first speaker in a noontime lecture series presented by Little Theatre of Manchester at Cheney Hall. As a prelude to LTM’s first show in the 2012 season, Neil Simon’s "Laughter on the 23rd Floor," Lamarre will discuss his experiences as a playwright and in particular, comedy writing on Jan. 11 at the Hall, located at 177 Hartford Road, Manchester. The lecture is free and patrons are welcome to bring their lunch. Each lecture will last one half hour with time for questions from the audience, and a promise to get people back to work on time after a little cultural boost to their day. David Garnes, local lecturer and writer and LTM member, will be the host for the series. Other lectures will be scheduled prior to each of the 2012 season productions. A schedule for this, the plays and a movie series, are available by calling the LTM box office at 860-647-9824.
