What is that noise?

Do you live in a home with an uncapped chimney? Ever heard noises that might imply birds have taken up residence there? Researchers at the Connecticut Department of Energy and the Environment (DEEP) and the University of Connecticut are looking for homes that might harbor chimney swifts, a native species that nests and roosts in chimneys, and catches hundreds of flying insects every day! The birds are in CT between April and September. If you have seen small, dark birds flying in and out of your chimney, we would like to hear from you! Please contact Shannon Kearney at DEEP (Shannon.Kearney@ct.gov, 860-675-8130) or Margaret Rubega at UConn (Margaret.rubega@uconn.edu, 860-486-4502).
