Career fair for veterans

On Tuesday, May 29, between 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Asnuntuck Community College in Enfield is hosting a major Career Fair event for veterans. The unique and sole objective of the Career Fair is to provide veterans and their families with the unique opportunity to explore higher education certificate and degree programs in advanced manufacturing. The college will conduct tours and provide a series of employer-led discussions about careers in advanced manufacturing technology. The college offers four excellent certificate and degree programs featuring CNC machining, welding with robotics, electronics, and electro-mechanical technologies. These are in demand technologies, and more than 25 employers and service agencies will be in attendance to meet with veterans and their families. In addition to tours and discussion with private sector companies, Senator Blumenthal, Congressman Courtney, and the Commissioner of Veterans Affairs Linda Schwartz will talk briefly. ACC Foundation Chairperson Karen Jarmoc will emcee the event, and a buffet dinner will be served between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Asnuntuck Community College is located at 170 Elm St. in Enfield.
