Rabies and microchip clinic

The Town of Ellington, in cooperation with the Ellington Center Animal Clinic and The Ellington Farmers Market, is holding a rabies clinic on June 9 from 9 am - noon at the Farmers Market, which is located at Arbor Park on Route 286, Main St. in Ellington, next to the Fire Station. There are no residency requirements. Dr. Prichard from Ellington Center Animal Clinic will be on staff to administer the vaccines and microchips. The fee is $20 cash only, for a rabies vaccination. Have all dogs on leashes and cats in carriers. Written proof, of either a valid rabies certificate or dog license showing a prior vaccination, must be presented to qualify for a three-year vaccination. Otherwise a one year vaccination will be given. Tags are not sufficient proof for a three-year vaccination. Microchipping will also be offered for a fee of $25, cash only. The Ellington Center Animal Clinic will be donating all proceeds from the rabies vaccinations and microchips to Ellington Animal Control.
