Congregation Beth Ahm welcomes Jewish and Interfaith families from throughout Greater Hartford. The Contemporary Conservative congregation is led by Rabbi Alan Lefkowitz. Windsor’s only synagogue is beginning its seventh decade of service to North Central Connecticut. It was created by 16 families in 1951 and initially was known as The Jewish Community of Greater Windsor. In September 1960, it opened its doors in a newly built synagogue on 362 Palisado Avenue. Today, the congregation’s religious school offers small classroom religious school for children as young as age 4, through Bar and Bat Mitzvah studies, through adult education.
