Mortgage assistance event

A free, mortgage-assistance event for homeowners who need information or help with loan modifications, foreclosure prevention, state and federal assistance programs and other lending-related issues will be held July 10 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the University of Connecticut, Student Union, 2110 Hillside Road, Storrs, Conn. Free parking will be available in the South Parking Garage. Representatives from various mortgage lenders and loan servicing companies will be in attendance. A full list of participating banks and agencies is available at www.ct.gov/dob/homeowner , which also lists the documents a homeowner needs to bring for assistance and directions to the event. Information on how to pre-register with your lender will also be posted. The mortgage assistance program is sponsored by Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Attorney General George Jepsen and the Connecticut Department of Banking.
