Norwich - posted Jul, 31 2012
NORWICH- Hospice Southeastern Connecticut is currently recruiting and training volunteers to serve in their local communities. We are particularly seeking volunteers to provide visits and companionship to patients, as well as provide respite to the caregiver. These volunteers may also assist in equipment pick-up & delivery, memorial rose delivery, and follow-up telephone surveys. In addition, we are looking for licensed massage therapists, reiki therapists, reflexology specialists, and certified pet therapists to serve our patients. Administrative and event/fundraising volunteers are also requested. There will be a training series beginning on Sept. 11, consisting of four classes, held on Tuesdays, Sept. 11-Oct. 2 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Norwich office. Volunteers are especially needed in the northern towns of New London County, particularly Plainfield, Griswold, Voluntown, Jewett City, and Franklin. Also needed are volunteers from Lyme, Old Lyme, and Salem. If you are interested in registering for the training, or learning more about any of these positions, please contact Lauren Watson, Volunteer Program Administrator, at lwatson@hospicesect.org or 860-848-5699.
