Personal care items needed

The Penelope Terry Abbey chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is sponsoring a collection for the Stand Down to be held at the Connecticut Veteran’s Home in Rocky Hill on Sept. 21. It is their goal to provide each veteran with a courtesy bag filled with personal care items. Some suggested items for collection are disposable razors/shaving cream, deodorant, soap, powder, shampoo, toothpaste/toothbrushes, combs/brushes, and hand sanitizer. No food items or gift cards. All items can be dropped off at the Enfield Senior Center at 299 Elm St., Enfield. There will be a collection box there until Aug. 28.
