Citizen Academy

East Hartford - posted Aug, 17 2012

The second annual “East Hartford Citizen Academy” will begin Sept. 6. The 10-week course will provide East Hartford residents the opportunity to gain knowledge about the town from the inside out. Presentations will be made by the Fire and Police Departments, the Board of Education, Public Works, Parks and Recreation and departments headquartered at Town Hall and throughout town. New this year is a class on the history of East Hartford from its founding to present day. Participants will work closely with elected officials and department leaders, emphasizing how East Hartford’s government is organized and how services are funded and delivered. Information will be presented in a curriculum designed to foster discussion and communication among the members of the class. Residents interested in registering for the program should contact the Mayor’s office at 860-291-7200.
