Progress in recycling

ENFIELD– The Town of Enfield’s new automated, bi-weekly recycling single stream recycling program, which began in January, is showing a 24 percent increase over the average of the previous fiscal year. Fiscal year 2011 ended the year with 3,381 tons of recyclables while fiscal year 12 resulted in 3,631 tons. Results are encouraging considering the year-end numbers include only six months of the new recycling program.
