VERNON - Vernon Senior Center will host Manchester Community College’s Noon Institute with the first program being “Majestic Theaters of Broadway” on Sept. 10 at noon. Instructor Barbara King will take a look at the old and new theaters of Broadway. Many of these theaters are gone but many still remain and house some of Broadway’s biggest hits and flops. Contact Sela for details on how to pre-register, cost is $5. The Vernon and Ellington Senior Centers are hosting a one-woman show “Panic In Connecticut, Accused Witches Have Their Say” on Sept. 14 at 2 p.m. Travel back to the 17th century and hear what five women accused of witchcraft have to say. Virginia Wolf from Her Story Theater will bring these characters to life in this show. Tickets cost $8. Senior Center month will be celebrated Sept. 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. with refreshments and a game of Senior Activity Bingo. There is no charge for this event, call to register. MaryAnne Konicki from the Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind will host a low-vision presentation at the center on Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. She will discuss services and low vision devices provided by the BESB. Call to register. The center will host an evening Crazy Whist and Pizza Party on Sept. 10 beginning at 5 p.m. followed by card playing. Prizes will be given. Tickets cost $7.
