DANIELSON- The AGvocate Steering Committee is seeking responses by Sept. 14 from qualified professionals for further development of the AGvocate program. The AGvocate promotes farm-friendly community policies and regulations in Eastern Connecticut, and is the liaison between agricultural producers and local communities. The AGvocate works to strengthen the network between producers, agriculture commissions, and other municipal boards. The AGvocate Program is managed by the Eastern Connecticut Resource Conservation and Development Area, Inc. (RC&D) in cooperation with a Steering Committee comprised of members from participating communities, The Last Green Valley (TLGV), agricultural businesses, and many federal, state, and nonprofit agencies and organizations. AGvocate funding for 2012/2013 will be provided by RC&D and TLGV. The Steering Committee is seeking responses from qualified respondents to accomplish the Scope of Work detailed in the Request for Qualifications. The deadline for electronic submissions has been extended until Friday, Sept. 14.
